Hectogel is a complex colloidal Sodium / Magnesium aluminium silicate derived from natural Smectite clays and purified by our special process. It is supplied as light creamy fine mesh powder with a surprising ability to swell in water or in organic liquids forming colloidal dispersion. It is thixotropic, tending to gel when at rest, but flowing freely when shaken.

Hectogel can be used in the manufacturing of best quality toothpaste, antiperspirant cosmetic make-up, aerosols, body lotion, face packs, creams, shampoos hair grooming aids and many other consumer as well as industrial products, in which piedogell stands as Emulsion Stabilizer, Superior Suspending Agent, Non-Migratory Binder. Tablet Disintegrates, Viscosity Modifier and Thickener being Non-toxic and Non-irritant.

INCORPORATION METHOD :

The optimum level of Hectogel to be used in the aqueous system will vary depending on the degree of thickening and consistency desired. Typical levels range between 0.1 and 2.0% Hectogel additive powder on the basis of total system.

RECOMMENDED LEVELS OF USE :

Hectoget rheological additives is easily wetted by water. Swelling begins even in cold water, e. g. on agitation with a blade stirrer. To achieve complete gellation within 15-20 minutes high shear mixing equipment is required. Gel can also be made by dispersing the powder in water slowly and aging for 24 hrs. "Hectogel can be incorporated as a powder or as a pre-gel. To prepare a pre-gel, disperse 3 to 4 parts of Hectoget additive in 97 parts of water to obtain a hard gel, no wetting agent is required. Hectogel is dispersed in the aqueous phase, e. g. resin solution directly.

FORMULATIONS & PROCEDURES :

Shaving Cream:

a Hectogel   ~ : 0.75-2.0%
b Water - : 75.5-76.75-%
c Sorbitol (70 % soln.) : 3%
d Triethanolamine - : 6%
e StearicAcid : 6.5%
f Cocoyl Sarcosine ~ : 7%
g Perfume and Preservative - : q.s

Add (Hectogel to the water slowly mixing with high speed stirring until smooth even suspension obtained. Add Sorbitol and Triethanolamine to complete (A). Prepare (B) mixture and heat (B) up to 75*C. Add (B) to (A) and mix until cool.

Moisturizing Cream:

d Triethanolamine - : 6%
e StearicAcid : 6.5%
f Cocoyl Sarcosine ~ : 7%

Add Hectogel to the water slowly, mixing with high speed stirring until smooth and uniform suspension obtained, add remaining ingredients to complete (A). Prepare (B) simultaneously and add (B) to (A) and heat up to 70*C. Mix until even.

Antiperspirant Lotion:

Add iHechgel to the water slowly, mixing with high speed stirring until smooth and uniform suspension obtained add remaining ingredients to complete (A) and heat up to 70*C. Also heat (B) to 75 *C and add to (A). Mix until 50*C Dissolve the Chlorohydrol in the water and heat up to 50*C to make (C) and add to other components. Mix until cool and uniform.

Antiperspirant Lotion:

a Hectogel   ~ : 1-2%
b CMC : 0.75-

Add diecfogei and CMC to the water slowly mixing with high speed stirring until smooth and uniform suspension obtain and prepare (A). Add (B) slowly to (A) and mix until uniform. Add (C) ingredients in order to mix after each addition until smooth and uniform. Add (D) and (E) and mix until uniform. Avoid air contacts through out whole operation.
